For a monetary civil claim, an estimated filing fee is calculated in bands. The first NPR 25,000 attracts a flat NPR 500. Above that amount, the percentage for each band applies only to the part of the claim within that band. Those amounts are added together.
For example, the estimate on a claim of NPR 1,00,000 is NPR 3,500: NPR 500 for the first band, NPR 1,250 for the next NPR 25,000 and NPR 1,750 for the following NPR 50,000. The full claim is not charged at one percentage.
The claim type and relief sought may change the fee. Some proceedings use fixed or different amounts, and the estimate does not include every filing expense.
